Date nights (or days, as today was) are fantastic. (Fantastic: from Greek originally, it connotes the idea of a vision, something other than this world, something better.)
Anytime spent with Elly is magical, but especially time when it is just the two of us. Time slows and we're transported to a world that is only ours. Where we play pool. Sometimes. Other times we do other things.
But today we played pool. After we played foosball. I lost foosball; I won pool. But who did the winning isn't the important part;
we both won, actually, as we delicately and joyfully tied threads of love and happiness around each other. Invisible threads. The goal is to get these little love threads wrapped around each other so tight, that we can't get away. Least that's my goal.So that's why I love my wife today. Everyday she's throwing little love and happiness threads around my life, and I'm quite tangled in them. Today was no exception, as she bounced around the pool table and made impossible shots, then promptly sunk the cue ball. Or the eight ball. I did that too. She's endearing.
